Group Show: ArtGigTokyo1 (Bar Exit, Tokyo) – IMAGINE PEACE
Description:A performance in which the artist, dressed as an old woman with her eyebrows completely shaved, set up a stall in the gallery where she bartered original artist goods for visitors' eyebrows. But, when a female character wears glasses, it can also means she is shy or a wallflower. Each event will be themed and include an array of relevant interdisciplinary artists who would be asked to exhibit old or new pieces — bespoke or accustomed — in a one day art happening. Artists are asked to present works that reflect their practice and that deals directly with their notion or understanding of the theme. Yet the connection between Japan and glasses is strong. Though the exhibitions have been conceived and produced independently, the joint timing of the exhibition and opening allows for enjoyable viewing of both shows.
